(Sozial-)ethische Grundlagenforschung

Foundational research in the field of ethics, specifically in social ethics, is a central component of the department's research and teaching activities, and serves as the basis for research in applied ethics. Foundational research includes, in addition to a reflection on the premises and tradition of the discipline, the reception of current debates and theories in philosophical and theological (social) ethics, as well as interdisciplinary engagement with developments in the sciences relevant to social ethics (e.g., social, political, and economic sciences).
